Reading and Reuse
Use this website as a starting point for informed questions, not as permission to identify, cultivate or serve an uncertain plant.
01 — Publisher and scope
An independent information resource
This website is published by Clevercometjolt Botanical Media Ltd, 27 Frederick Street North, Dublin 1, D01 K6W2, Ireland, CRO 791438. These terms apply to use of the website and its browser-based contact draft tool. If you do not accept them, do not use the website.
Content is provided for general educational purposes. It is not personalised botanical identification, medical advice, legal advice, food-safety certification or a professional growing specification. We do not sell plants or ingredients through this website.
02 — Safety and reliance
Verify before acting
Never consume or serve a plant whose identity or safe intended use is uncertain. Common names, images, aroma and flavour are not sufficient identification methods. A known use of one plant part does not establish safe use of another. Appropriate sourcing, legal food status, treatment history and hygiene controls must be assessed separately.
Restaurants remain responsible for their operations, staff training and legal obligations. Obtain advice from competent professionals and relevant authorities. If suspected poisoning or another urgent health concern occurs, contact local emergency or poison-information services immediately rather than seeking help through this website.
We aim for useful, accurate information, but do not guarantee completeness, continuing accuracy, uninterrupted availability or suitability for a particular purpose. Plant nomenclature, regulatory requirements and guidance can change. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising from reliance on general content. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or limits mandatory consumer rights.
03 — Copyright and acceptable use
Read freely; reuse responsibly
Unless otherwise indicated, site text and design are owned by or licensed to the publisher. You may read, print or save pages for personal reference and ordinary internal learning. Wider republication, commercial redistribution or reuse of substantial material requires permission, except where a legal exception applies. Third-party material remains subject to its own rights.
You may link to a public page without implying endorsement or partnership. Do not misrepresent our content, remove safety qualifications, attempt unauthorised access, disrupt the website or use its contact channel to send unlawful, abusive or infringing material.
If you send an editorial correction, you permit us to review the submission and use the factual information to improve our coverage. This does not transfer ownership of your original work. Please do not send confidential material or material you have no right to share.
04 — Tools, links and changes
Keep control of your own draft
The contact tool prepares text locally. It does not send email, store drafts or guarantee clipboard or download support on every device. Review the text before copying, downloading or sending it. You control any resulting file and message.
External references are provided for convenience and context. We do not control third-party websites, and naming an organisation does not imply affiliation or endorsement. Their terms and privacy notices apply when you visit them.
We may update these terms or the website. Revised terms apply to subsequent use. Irish law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights available to you under applicable law. Questions and permissions requests can be sent through Contact.
